Veteran Bikes

Are you one of the many veterans who bravely fought to protect our country and now face life-changing disabilities?  Springfield ABC believes you should have every opportunity to engage in the active lifestyle you enjoyed prior to your service.

We understand that some wounds are visible and some are not.  If you are unable to operate a traditional bike, for whatever reason, the AmTryke therapeutic tricycle may be for you.

Riders with disabilities often struggle to bring a bicycle up to speed quickly enough to stay upright.  The AmTryke operates from a tricycle platform with the goal of getting a rider balanced and feeling secure.

Amtryke riders will increase cardio function, build strength and experience the outdoors in a new way, all of which can impact overall health and fitness. Not to mention the opportunity to ride with family and friends!

These trykes can be hand or foot powered and provide the stability and support often required for a veteran to return to bike riding.

From sleek road trykes for those who just need help with balance to full trunk support, leg assists and hand assists for more involved riders, the Amtryke has our nation’s heroes covered!

How can I get a Vet Bike?

Through various fundraising efforts and private donations, Springfield ABC is pleased to provide Vet Bikes free of charge to Veterans.   The AmTryke Team works hard to fulfill the requests as quickly as possible.  If we do not have the available funds when a request is made, we will work hard to find the resources to complete a request.

Complete the veteran bike package and submit to Springfield ABC via mail, FAX or email.
